Beautiful woven Papua New Guinea (Sepik River region) pig or boar figure. Basket woven rattan or similar built around a basic framework and then embellished with black feathers and cowrie shells for eyes. The whole thing is then painted using native pigments in white, brown, burnt sienna and black tones.
This is a vintage handmade item of organic materials and will have some flaws and inconsistencies commensurate with the methods and materials of manufacture.
Condition: Overall excellent. No breaks or damage other than perhaps some minor feather loss.
Measurements: 20” x 7” x 10”
