    Description

    A beautiful gem...this one!
    Solomon Islands "Nguzunguzu" canoe prow figure....circa late 19th/very early 20th cent (1880s - 1910).
    Made for a smaller canoe/fishing vessel.
    Nice old dull, very dark/black patina......traces of red paint in mouth area.....Inset shell eyes.....The expected/usual wear and tear owing to prolonged usage and exposure to the elements.
    This object looks much better in person....Overall, in superb condition for its +100 years of age.
