    Description

    We are offering a
    RARE
circa 1900 Ivory Soap Advertising Booklet with beautiful illustrations of a new bride performing her first house-cleaning using Ivory Soap.  5 1/2" x 7 1/2".  27 pages.  The booklet is bound with silk cord and covered with glassine paper.  The glassine paper gives the picture of the bride on the cover a soft look.
The first six pages tell a delightful story about "Mrs. Harding", a distraught wife, lamenting over the daunting task of cleaning her home.  She's in tears as her Aunt Mary arrives and saves the day, showing her niece how to clean just about everything using Ivory Soap in different ways.  After several days of cleaning the house from top to bottom, Aunt Mary makes her departure leaving "recipes" for her niece to follow using Ivory Soap.  These "recipes" are listed in the booklet using Ivory Soap to clean: brass-work, beds, carpets, cashmere, dishes, embroidered linens, hardwood floors, jewels, laces, leather, nursing bottles, oil paintings, ostrich feathers, plants, and shoes.  Aunt Mary says Ivory Soap can also be used to brush teeth, and even to remove freckles!  The booklet also tells how to remove over 20 different types of stains.
CONDITION: Excellent Condition; has a bump that affected the tops of the pages - otherwise the booklet is Excellent.
